Once in Sorrento Centre, the train station for Pompei and Herculaneum is very close by, as is the harbour with the hydrofoils for the island of Capri and Ischia and Naples, and the very convenient bus service for Positano (10 km away) and Amalfi. From Positano, it is just 20 minutes to the beautiful, ancient village of Ravello, home of poets and antiquarians, with its gardens and wonderful eighteenth century villas on the cliff overlooking the sea.
If you love shopping, socializing, bars and exclusive restaurants, Sorrento is the ideal place for you. The only problem will be choosing between them. 7 km away is the sea and the bay of Nerano, with its enchanting beaches and romantic restaurants, some of which are on jetties, suspended over the water, where you will find the best fish and shellfish dishes of the Sorrento Peninsula.
